When summer fades, the water is no longer warm and inviting - its turning cold, dark, and hiding things you’d rather not name. Mermaid Regret is the scent of saltwater trauma and broken promises. It’s what happens after the fairytale ends: the man is gone, the voice is gone, and all that’s left is a shimmer of gold in the wreckage.

This scent is the end of summer slipping into autumn, when everything feels heavier — ocean spray tangled with top notes of blueberry - sweet like summer's last fling, but with that tart bite that says it's over. Heart notes of cool mint — a rush of icy breath, like swimming too deep or feeling that first cold wave of autumn. And it finishes off with base notes of sea salt — brine, grit, and ocean memory.

All are hand-poured with high quality soy wax - each piece is unique, chaotic, and smells like a bayou mermaid’s heartbreak.

• Mermaid Regret Mini Tin — 2 oz (x1 available) - Small but potent. A quick dose of saltwater drama for when you only need a taste of regret. Size: 2oz / Great for testing scents or gifting / Travel-size trauma in a tin.
• Mermaid Regret Wax Melts — Clamshells (3 available) - Break-apart melts swirled in pale teal shimmer, flecked with gold like drowned treasure. Size: 6-cavity clamshell. Snap, melt, and release the chaos. For wax warmers only.
• Mermaid Regret Wax Brittle - Bars (2 available) - Jagged shards of scented sorrow, swirled in ocean teal with glints of lost gold. Each bar is hand-broken for that freshly shipwrecked feeling! For wax warmers only!

Light Mermaid Regret when you’re packing away swimsuits, burning your last citronella candle, or just need to sit in your own melancholy with saltwater and shimmer. It’s end-of-summer bottled up — beautiful, strange, and a little bitter.

Burning Tips (Soy Tins)

• Always burn until the melt pool reaches the edge of the tin — this prevents tunneling and makes your candle last longer.
• Trim your wick to about ¼ inch before each burn.
• Burn in sessions of 2–4 hours max for best results.

 Candle Safety Warnings 

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep away from things that catch fire (curtains, books, swamp moss, etc.).
• Burn on a heat-resistant surface.
• Keep away from children and pets.
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Stop burning when about ¼ inch of wax remains.

Inexplicable Things always recommends that you remove the charm, stones or any whole herbs prior to burning. Always burn your candles on sturdy, heat resistant surfaces or holders. 

Please keep an eye on your candle while it burns. 

NEVER leave a lit candle unattended and be sure to keep the candle away from children, pets or drafty areas.
