The Season of "The Boss Witch"
I have always felt that Lammas (or Lughnasadh) is the most underrated Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year. Occurring at the peak of summer heat, usually around August 1st, it is the festival of the First Harvest. Historically, this was a time of high anxiety and high reward: The "grain mother" was cut, and the community found out if they would survive the winter. It's the energetic pivot point where potential turns into reality. You can't just hope for the crop anymore, you have to go out into the field, sweat, and cut it down.
What I respect about Anderson and Diaz’s interpretation in this seventh deck is they reframe this agricultural labor as modern ambition. Specifically, the energy of the "Boss Witch." Instead of just baking bread and being passive, this deck demands you look at your own definitions of success. It asks the uncomfortable questions: Did you do the work? Are you ready to claim the reward? It moves away from the soft focus of spring planting and into the sharp, golden light of summer reaping.

Before shuffling the cards, look back at what you planted during Imbolc or Ostara. Take a journal and write down the three primary goals or intentions you set earlier in the year.
Lammas calls for honest assessment. Which goals are actively growing, and which have stalled or failed? A harvest requires maturity, not effort alone. There's no shame in acknowledging what did not take root and choosing to release it.

This may include baking and sharing food, giving a gift, or donating resources. The lesson of this deck is that hoarded success stagnates. To keep momentum flowing, the harvest must be shared.
